Blast of plasma to hit Earth

Here is an interesting piece of information… Tomorrow a massive plasma flair is due to hit our atmosphere. It is said that this could affect various wireless communications including cell phone reception.

“On August 1st around 0855 UT, Earth orbiting satellites detected a C3-class solar flare. The origin of the blast was Earth-facing sunspot 1092. C-class solar flares are small (when compared to X and M-class flares) and usually have few noticeable consequences here on Earth besides aurorae. This one has spawned a coronal mass ejection heading in Earth’s direction.”

Google is Full!

So today at the office I was greeted with this screen when attempting to do a Google search. My theory is that Google is finally full!

So clearly that is not the case here and was quickly resolved by our IT department. My point is that the Internet is becoming sloppy. Too many SPAMMERS that are not dealt with in a way that would prevent future attacks. Something needs to be done.

I have also seen an increasing number of real e-mails not making it to their destinations. I am sure partly because of poorly configured SPAM filters and in some cases I do not think they ever make it off the server. I have had several messages from my GMAIL account not make it to the people I was e-mailing.

520-day simulated mission to Mars

Leave it to Russia to start a 6 person simulation to Mars. Although they are not really going anywhere the simulation will help provide a better understanding of how the mission will go.

Acer to have Google Chrome

More info is surfacing about Google Chrome and Acer to have the first netbook to market. N the weeks to come it is expected that Acer will introduce its Chrome based system. It is very interesting to see how Google’s mobile OS Android has taken the #2 spot in smart phone systems. With a PC based on another Google OS I’m thinking that Microsoft is beginning to shake a bit.

Although some do not believe that Chrome is ready for the big time it will still be interesting to see where this first step will take us.

Android 2.1 for Hero May 21st?

Here we are again with more rumors… My sources were able to provide me with the latest update being communicated to Best Buy employees as May 21st. There is still really NO way to know if this is 100% but I would have to imagine that if this is what Best Buy is communicating to their associates then there is some truth to it. Again we will have to wait and see.

HTC Hero … 2.1 update?

I know there seems to be a lot of news and rumors out there regarding the Android 2.1 for the HTC hero. I am also aware that the screen shot from Best Buy. I have also seen it in person. YES I have seen it in person at Best Buy however I cannot say how I saw it or got access to it. I spent some time talking with associates about the new version and they too were convinced it’s going to happen.

I’m not trying to add to the rumors and I too am waiting for this update. Just like you I will just have to wait and see what happens. Everyone is pissed off but I would like to know HOW Best Buy can send this memo to its employees and I have not seen one statement from them regarding this latest DATE.

So with NO update from Best Buy and this memo still available on their system we still have a little bit of wait and see.

Don’t get me wrong. I have made my piece that this update is not happening May 7th.
